The Junior Board is composed of the Chairs of the Echols Council’s six committees. The Chairs are responsible for overseeing all activities of their committees and providing opportunities to all Echols Scholars to engage with the school and further their intellectual curiosity.

Luke Lamberson
Luke is a fourth year from Midlothian, Virginia, studying Math. On Grounds, Luke is involved in McIntire Investment Institute, Sports Analytics and Statistics Lab, and the University Board of Elections. A fun fact about Luke is that he can calculate the day of the week for any date in history!

Sara Kakatkar
Sara is a 2nd-year from Chantilly, Virginia majoring in Environmental Science with a minor in Data Science. On Grounds, she marches mellophone in the Cavalier Marching Band and does environmental justice research at the UVA Repair Lab. Sara is also a volunteer EMT on a rescue squad. She loves taking pictures of the Lawn, Clark stacks, and finding spicy food in cville!!

Will is a third year from New Orleans, Louisiana majoring in Economics and minoring in Data Analytics. Outside of Echols Council, he is involved in Madison House, Refurnished, Ducks Unlimited, and Greek life among other things!

Nishita Ghanate
Nishita is a fourth year from Atlanta, Georgia majoring in Honors Politics and Computer Science. She loves music of all genres and enjoys discovering new artists, and her favorite song is “Oh My Dear Lord” by The Unlikely Candidates. On Grounds, Nishita is also involved with University Democrats, the Jefferson Society, and UVa Honor. She also enjoys playing the guitar and eating at Asado’s!

Hey! I am a fourth year student from Chantilly, Virginia majoring in a BS of Chemistry (ACS) and minoring in Physics as well as Data Science. I'm involved in Student Ambassadors, YMCA Venable After School Volunteering in Madison House, Hoos Littering, and Indian Student Association. Outside of school, I love to paint, watch new movies, and listen to live music (one could say I'm Jefferson and Southern regular).
