The Executive Board is the primary governing body of the Echols Council. It is made up of the President, Vice Presidents of Academic Affairs, Vice President of Community Engagement, Treasurer, and Secretary. These five individuals oversee all Echols Council activity and are responsible for working with the Echols Program administration to further the goals of the program.

Alexandra Pentimonti

Alex is a third year double-majoring in French & Commerce and minoring in Drama. While she’s originally from Northern Virginia, she’s lived with her family in London, England since 2015. Outside the classroom, Alex is a member of the Virginia Venture Fund, Pi Beta Phi Sorority & the Alfred Marshall Society. In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis, listening to French music and watching new plays at Live Arts Charlottesville!

Hannah Carter

Hannah Carter is a second year from Athens, Georgia majoring in Public Policy and Leadership and minoring in Politics. Outside of Echols, Hannah is a Resident Advisor, University Guide, Advisor for the Honor Committee, and Research Assistant. She is looking forward to connecting with Echols Scholars this year and continuing to foster a strong Echols community!

Taner Drexler

Taner is a second-year from Manahawkin, NJ majoring in Pre-Commerce and Applied Statistics. Outside of the Echols Council, Taner is a member of the Sales & Trading Group at McIntire, Chi Psi Fraternity, and College Mentors for Kids. In his free time, Taner enjoys exploring cafes, architectural photography, and DJing house music.

Brooke Barnes

Brooke is a third-year from Suffolk, VA majoring in Global Public Health and Anthropology and minoring in Women, Gender, and Sexuality studies! She serves as the Site-Leader Co-Chair for Alternative Spring Break and as a RISE presenter for CORE! In her free time, Brooke likes to explore outside of Grounds and try new food places (specifically boba places) with her friends. She’ll also give you movie and television recommendations if you want!

FIRST YEAR LIAISON

Zach Davidson

Zach is a first-year planning to double-major in politics and economics. He is originally from the Bay Area, California, but has also lived in Oregon, Spain, and Mexico. Outside of the Echols Council, Zach is also involved with the University Judiciary Committee, Jefferson Society, and Student Council. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer, completing crosswords (especially the NYT mini), and watching Dallas Cowboys games.
